an early theatre concept.

The theatre is meant to be a space to uninhibited creativity and passion.  Since it is to be hidden within the building, the initial thought was to carve a space out that could completely offset the geometric rigidness and predictability of the existing building.  The most successful early model was a theatre in the round, placing the audience in playfully curved balconies that would serve as acoustic mediators and light providers.

The balcony faces were to compose themselves to both optimize noise absorption and provide good views of the stage (a perfect circle in the direct center of the space).  In order to provide light (not including stage lighting) to the space, there was an idea to use a translucent surface.
